Angry Birds: To Facebook and Beyond!

Rovio CEO Mikael Hed said that the crazily popular game by Rovio is coming to Facebook next month. Angry Birds has had unprecedented success in the mobile gaming industry. It’s made 10s of millions of dollars in the little over a year that it’s been out. No other iPhone game has come close to that number.

Other game developers have to be jealous of its success. It started out as an iPhone app. Then, it came out on android and an iPad version was launched. Next, versions go out to Nokia, Palm, PCs, PSP/PS3, and even Windows Phone 7. They’ve got movie tie-ins, an animated series, an even a 3D version being worked on. Finally, they’ll be a version of it on the most popular social networking site in the world.

Facebook is a casual gaming platform in which Angry Birds will thrive. Facebook is already the responsible party for the stomach churning success of annoying and addicting (for some) game, Farmville. Now, an already established game will be coming to Facebook? There’s only one word for it. Dominance. Angry Birds has domain over all of the mobile gaming world and everyone wants to have a game like that. There’s no other word to describe their influence…they’re just dominant.
