[HOWTO] Jailbreak with 4.2.1 WITH WORKING CYDIA!!

I’ve searched near and far for the jailbreak to iOS 4.2.1 and I’ve finally found one that works. Find a detailed guide on jailbreaking iOS 4.2.1 WITH WORKING CYDIA after the jump.

STEP 1: Update your firmware to 4.2.1 via iTunes

STEP 2: Download redsn0w 0.9.6b4 from here (Windows) or here (Mac)

STEP 3: Find and download your current iDevice firmware: iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iTouch 2G, iTouch 3G, iTouch 4G, or iPad

STEP 4: Launch redsn0w 0.9.6b4

STEP 5: Browse for your firmware (that you previously downloaded, it should be an .ipsw file)

Step 6: Select it and hit next

Step 7: Plug your iPhone into your computer (if not already) and power it off.

Step 8: Select “Install Cydia”

Step 9: Hit next and let redsn0w do the work. Your iDevice should look like the picture at the beginning of the article and then this:

Step 10: DON’T OPEN CYDIA. It will not work. Reopen redsn0w and complete steps 4-7 over again.

Step 11: Select “Just boot tethered right now”

Step 12: Cydia will now work now but whenever your device completely powers off, you’ll have to do Step 11 over to keep Cydia working. NOTE: Don’t have to reboot with redsn0w if you’re only restarting sprinboard so I reccomend downloading WinterBoard ASAP
