iOS Game of the Week: Real Racing 2

Real Racing 2 is an INCREDIBLE game. These are the best graphics I have ever seen on an iOS game…Infinity Blade included. I even watch the intro sequence every time I fire up the game because it’s so amazing what companies can go with computer generated images nowadays. The graphics are incredibly smooth and I barely notice any lag with graphics on my iPhone 4 the way I do with Infinity Blade a lot of the time.

There’s a lot of cool cars that you can unlock in this game, too. You start off with $25,000. The game will let you see all of the car options you have but pretty much the only cars you can afford are a VW Golf and a Volvo, both of which respectively suck. But have no fear, you’ll work your way up after winning some races and be able to buy some good looking sport cars.

There’s 3 game modes built-in to this game; Career, Quick Race, and Time Trial. Time Trial is the game mode that has the leaderboards so you can compare with your friends on Game Center, just in case you’re wondering why you have no rank in the game.

Career is very basic. There’s not much to it except just racing and working your way up. However, I do have on tip for all of you in order to race better. Turn down the brake assist, it makes getting ahead of people when turning corners so much easier.

Finally, the coolest feature of all, that isn’t even available yet, is full 1080p HD video output for the iPad 2. You can view a previous post about that here
