Verizon iPhone will be retarded, basically
So here we go. It’s all but confirmed now that sometime early next year Verizon will start carrying a version of the iPhone 4. It’s a big announcement for those wanting to keep the iPhone but not on AT&T’s network.
All is fine and dandy right? Well, not quite. If you like talking and downloading information over the network at the same time, you can kiss that “feature” goodbye because according to Bloomberg, the iPhone on Verizon won’t transmit data and voice together. This is partially due to the fact that Verizon uses a CDMA network which requires more battery power to operate standard phone functions.
Not having the iPhone do voice and data downloading at the same time seems to defeat its purpose as a smartphone. Not that I’d switch networks (I like AT&T), but this would definitely be a deal-breaker for me if I was thinking about it.
